Start with the job
A bowl, a lick mat, a treat puzzle and a tug toy all do different work. Decide which job you are trying to fill before comparing products.
Measure the dog, not the breed
Chest measurements decide harness fit. Bowl width, depth and ridge spacing decide whether your dog can comfortably reach the food. A ball that fits completely inside your dog’s mouth is too small.
Check food and treats
Check ingredients and choose portions that suit your dog’s diet and size. Any peanut butter used on a lick mat must be xylitol-free. Birthday treats are occasional extras, not everyday food.
Play together
Tug is a two-player game. Supervise play, match toys to your dog’s size and chewing style, and replace anything that becomes worn or damaged. No chew is indestructible.
